Gieseke, Hilke

Junior Researcher

Research interests:
  • Marginality hotspot mapping: defining marginal areas with under-/unused agricultural potential combining information gained from optical satellite data (agro-ecological environments) with statistical data (poverty indices)
  • Monitoring of the cryosphere by remote sensing and field techniques, SAR applications for glacier dynamic mapping, climate change in the Antarctica
Study Areas:
  • Ghana, Ethiopia, India, Bangladesh
  • Antarctic Peninsula & King George Island
